Choosing a Practitioner with Focus and Intention
You would not choose your primary care physician based on who had the soonest opening. You would not pick a therapist because they were the cheapest option on the list. You would not pick a dentist because they were the first one who took your call.
You would ask people you trust for recommendations. You would research the practitioner’s credentials. You would read patient reviews to see if the experiences of others are what you are seeking.
Chinese Medicine deserves the same standard. It is not a convenience service. It is healthcare, with thousands of years of clinical depth behind it, and the right practitioner for your body matters more than the right time slot.
What Matters
Training and ongoing study. Chinese medicine is deep and broad, with a foundational body of knowledge and many specializations and lineage traditions. A practitioner who is still learning is a good sign, not a red flag.
A focus on patient education. You should leave each session understanding your own body better. Information should be clear, direct and easy to understand. Your ability to maintain your health post-treatment is the ultimate goal.
A modality that fits your body. Acupuncture is one tool in a very large system. If needles are not right for you, Medical Qigong, cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, ear seeds, and herbal medicine are complete, clinical approaches in their own right. Look for a practitioner who offers the modalities your body needs.
Meets you where you are. Chinese medicine should address your immediate needs, and treatment approaches should change as your body changes. No two treatments are the same.
My Practice
In my practice, I bring together acupuncture, Medical Qigong, cupping, gua sha, tui na, moxibustion, flower acupuncture, ear seeds, and Chinese Face Reading in a layered, intentional system of care. I am a certified Medical Qigong practitioner and Master Chinese Face Reader. My training is clinical and ongoing.
Sessions are not rushed. The intake is thorough. The treatment plan is specific to your body and your needs.
If you are in the Dunedin or Tampa Bay area and you are ready to work with someone who takes your healing seriously, I would be glad to be that practitioner for you.
